Part I ('97 - '08) Skulte Performance Designs started with
Andris Skulte's love of f-bodies and engineering in 1996. SPD is a
company focused on designing and fabricating products for Camaros and
Firebirds, among other musclecars. Our mission is to provide the proper
parts for your vehicle to achieve the ultimate performance for a
reasonable price.
The driving force behind SPD is Andris Skulte. He graduated from Tufts
University with a degree in mechanical engineering, and concentrations
in both management and manufacturing. After college, he crewed
for Joe Scarallo's TransAm team, and worked as an engineering consultant in
the nuclear industry. While growing SPD during weekends and evenings, Andris worked at Mallory Billet Aluminum Products for several
years as their engineer responsible for designing beautiful new billet automotive parts and preparing the protoypes for
manufacturing, as well as implementing
and auditing ISO-9000:2000 and AS9100 quality control programs.
Performance has always been a part of his life, whether its on the road or track with his twin
turbo Camaro, or other activities like racing mountain bikes, wakeboarding, and skiing/snowboarding. He is a self
confessed "techie" who loves all tools and gadgets. Andris can spend
hours discussing engines, fuel injection, suspension, or engineering in
general, and then put it to use.
Part II (May 5, 2009)
In November 2008, I was given the opportunity to manage an aerospace
manufacturing company's quality department. I returned to work full-time, and continued to run SPD in
the evenings. With two hours of time available in the evenings, I haven't been able to respond to all emails and voicemails. My customers
(you guys!) have been great over the years, and I truly enjoy helping everyone. I apologize for not having the time lately that great customer service
deserves.
I've decided to scale back Skulte Performance Designs by phasing out wheel adapters and wheel spacers, but will still be fabricating T56 swap
crossmembers (and hope to have a chance to finally enjoy racing the Camaro this summer!). I've also removed our phone number from the website
because I just haven't had a chance to return all voicemails, and find it's much quicker and more flexible to return emails.
Thanks for the great years!
Andris Skulte
