Throttlebody
Coolant Bypass
The throttlbody
has a coolant passage going through it to prevent icing in the wintertime.
By bypassing the coolant, the throttlebody stays cooler and your intake
air temperature is cooler too. We all know that cool air is dense air,
which give you more power. F-body list members have dynoes this mod, and
it was good for a few HP. Nothing quite like free horsepower!
-
The coolant
enters the throttlebody on the bottom right and exits on the passenger
side.
-
Get a half
inch hose repair kit with a double sided barb fitting (not sure on the
size)
-
Remove the
coolant lines from the TB, and connect them with the barb.
-
Add hose
clamps to keep the barb in place.
-
Make sure
the coolant is cool, otherwise you will get burned.
-
You're done!
Another way
is to just replace the two hoses with one hose. This is what I did, and
it looks a little cleaner.
